Samoa! Cheap and heaps of coconuts:)

I’ve always wanted to go to to Samoa! The bizarre reasoning behind this is because of rugby. When it comes to international rugby they are my second favourite team (favourite being Australia). Back in 2003 Australia hosted the Rugby World Cup and I went to many many games. My dad’s work had seats to every sports game at Etihad Stadium (back when it was the Telstra Dome) and no-one at his work had any interest in rugby but him. So we went to most if not all games there. 11 Year old me was fascinated by the wall like build of the Samoans and yet their ability to still run quickly. They were great to watch.

I also remember one game was England V Samoa. England was kicking Samoa’s ass and this English man with a red face and long nose was abusing the four Samoan men in front of me. He was vile, racist and generally obnoxious to these 4 men even though they were so wide and built (in a muscular way) that they would have been more comfortable on two seats rather than just one. These Samoan men were calm and peaceful throughout. They even acknowledged me, the little Australian boy behind them, and were very softly spoken and polite. After the game they then waited for this obnoxious Pom at the top of the steps, gave him one punch to the nose and then calmly walked away without saying a word.

Next game I went to was England V someone else. That obnoxious man was back in the same seat but this time was dead quiet and his long nose was bent and flattened across his face.

I need a holiday… Preferably somewhere with coconuts. I’ll settle for just the coconuts.
